Everton Summer Transfer Review 2023: How Has Dyche Fared In The Market?

Everton had a frustrating summer transfer window as they managed to bring in just five new players in the form of Beto, Chermiti, Arnaut Danjuma (loan), Ashley Young (free transfer) and Jack Harrison (loan) [via transfermarkt].

Everton’s Summer Arrivals

Beto

Everton decided to sign Beto on a €25m deal from Udinese Calcio. He will now be expected to challenge Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club this season.

Chermiti

The Toffees managed to bring in Chermiti from Sporting on a deal worth around €12.5m. He will now hope to add more firepower to Sean Dyche’s attack this season. However, at 19, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to settle into life at the Merseyside club.

Arnaut Danjuma

Danjuma sealed a loan move to Everton from Villarreal. He has already featured heavily for Everton recently. We can expect him to be a regular starter at Goodison Park this season.

Ashley Young

Dyche opted to bring Ashley Young on a free transfer this summer. Everton will rely on his experience if they want to avoid getting dragged into a relegation dogfight once again in the Premier League.

Jack Harrison

Harrison completed a loan move to Everton from Leeds United earlier this summer. Dyche will rely on Harrison’s pace and dribbling ability to bring more firepower to his frontline.

Everton’s Notable Summer Departures

Moise Kean – Juventus for €30m

Alex Iwobi – Fulham for €25.7m

Thomas Cannon – Leicester City for €8.8m

Ellis Simms – Coventry for €7m

Niels Nkoundou – Saint-Etienne for €2m

How Has Everton Boss Sean Dyche Fared In The Market?

Everton have endured a difficult summer as they struggled to get players into the club. However, the arrivals of Beto, Chermiti, Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison will no doubt add more quality to their attack.

Dyche will also rely on Ashley Young’s experience to help the Toffees steer clear of relegation danger in the Premier League this season. All in all, Dyche’s transfer business has been average at best this summer.
