Everton welcomed Arsenal at Goodison Park earlier today as they looked to grind out a result at home in the Premier League. The Toffees made a decent start to the game and managed to hold the visitors to a 0-0 draw at the half-time interval.

Sean Dyche’s men conceded the opening goal in the 69th minute when Leandro Trossard got his name on the scoresheet. Everton failed to come up with a response and crashed to a lackluster 1-0 loss in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Everton player fared during the contest against the Gunners.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 7/10

The English goalie made a few solid saves at the back but will be disappointed after allowing a goal in the second half.

RB: Ashley Young – 6/10

Young did his fair share of defending but offered very little going forward.

CB: James Tarkowski – 6.5/10

He tried his best to keep things solid at the back but it was not enough in the end.

CB: Jarrod Branthwaite – 7/10

Branthwaite made a lot of important clearances on the defensive third of the pitch.

LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6.5/10

Mykolenko performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the Arsenal half.

RM: Arnaut Danjuma – 6/10

The gifted speedster made one good chance in the final third but never looked like he would score.

CM: Idrissa Gueye – 6.5/10

Gueye had a couple of bright moments in the opponent’s half and earned possession back a couple of times for his team.

CM: Amadou Onana – 6/10

He did his fair share of defending but failed to influence the game going forward.

CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6.5/10

Doucoure made two decent chances for others around him but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.

LM: Dwight McNeil – 6/10

He was quiet for most of the game and was replaced in the 87th minute.

ST: Beto – 6/10

Beto failed to trouble the opposition keeper and did well to last 65 minutes.

Substitutes:

ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6/10

He didn’t do enough to register a goal.

RM: James Garner – 6/10

Garner struggled to get into the flow of the game.
