According to a report from Manchester Evening News, Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson’s potential departure to Nottingham Forest could significantly boost Erik ten Hag’s transfer funds. The goalkeeper, who had a loan spell at the City Ground last season, is reportedly anticipating a permanent move, and the transfer could potentially yield up to £30 million for the club.

Henderson’s Rise In The Premier League

While playing under Chris Wilder at Sheffield United, Henderson was one of the standout players in the club’s promotion to the Premier League. Henderson was so impressive that he won the club’s Young Player of the Year award, plus the Championship Golden Glove.

Henderson had a swift and impressive impact on loan at Nottinghamshire Forest last season. Throughout his time with the club, he appeared in 18 matches across various competitions and managed to keep six clean sheets. His exceptional performances earned him the title of the club’s Player of the Season, as voted by the fans. The 26-year-old’s loan spell at Nottingham Forest was a major success, and it has shown that he is capable of playing at the highest level.

Good Decision By Manchester United Boss Erik Ten Hag?

Henderson’s shot-stopping abilities have been a standout feature throughout his career. His agility, quick reflexes, and exceptional positioning enable him to make crucial saves and keep opposition attacks at bay. During his loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season, he showcased his prowess, earning the admiration of fans and the club’s Player of the Season award.

At an imposing height of 1.85 meters, Henderson is commanding in the penalty area. He is confident when claiming crosses and dealing with aerial threats, adding an extra layer of security to the defensive line.

One of Henderson’s strengths lies in his ability to distribute the ball effectively from the back. He is comfortable with both feet and can initiate attacking plays with accurate long-range passes. His composure under pressure makes him an asset in building play from the back. This makes him a decent fit for Erik ten Hag’s style of play at Old Trafford.

Nonetheless, Man United have recently acquired Andre Onana from Inter Milan, who is expected to take on a prominent role at the club. This has pushed Henderson into a secondary position, prompting him to seek opportunities elsewhere where he can play a more primary role in the squad. Nottingham Forest appears to be the most viable option for the talented shot-stopper, but his departure could deal a significant blow to the Red Devils if they fail to find a decent replacement going into the next season.
