Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend as they welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge. The Blues are hoping to have a better start this season and will be eager to take all three points from this contest.

Mauricio Pochettino will probably utilise the 4-2-3-1 formation and is poised to deploy a strong starting XI. Nicolas Jackson will lead the line up front while Carney Chukwuemeka plays in the advanced attacking midfield position.

Defence

Kepa Arrizabalaga will continue to function in between the sticks for the Blues. Thiago Silva will form a customary centre-half partnership with Levi Colwill at the heart of Chelsea’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Reece James will operate as the right back, while Ben Chilwel hopes to catch the eye on the opposite flank. Both of them would be eager to make a difference for the West London club out on the wide areas.

Midfield

Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez and Carney Chukwuemeka will function in the midfield as they try to dominate the ball and engineer enough chances for the Blues to come out on top this weekend.

Andre Santos will take a spot on the bench, waiting for his chance to shine in the second half.

Attack

Mykhailo Mudryk will operate on the left wing, while Raheem Sterling hopes to put his pace to good use on the right.

Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the West London club on the attacking end of the field, hoping to find the back of the net.

Ian Maatsen and Noni Madueke will be named on the bench as they wait for an opportunity to impress in the latter stages of the game if the London club are in need of a goal by then.
