Liverpool entertained Bournemouth at Anfield earlier today as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a sloppy start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the third minute when Antoine Semenyo found the back of the net. The Merseyside club came roaring back thanks to a great finish from Luis Diaz in the 27th minute. Mohamed Salah completed the turnaround for Liverpool just nine minutes later with an easy strike from point-blank range after he initially missed his penalty. Jurgen Klopp’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.

Alexis Mac Allister was sent off by the referee in the 58th minute. However, Diogo Jota gave Liverpool some breathing room when he scored in the 62nd minute. The contest ended with the Reds securing an impressive 3-1 win at Anfield.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against the Cherries.

GK: Alisson Becker – 7/10

The Brazilian keeper made a few crucial saves at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition to just one goal.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5/10

He made a slow start to the game. However, Trent performed his defensive duties well in the second half and was inventive going forward.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7/10

Konate was solid at the back for most of the game and was bright on the ball.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 8/10

The Dutch defender was a commanding presence inside his half and was a threat at the other end of the field.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 7.5/10

He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and managed to create a few decent chances from the left flank.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 7.5/10

Szboszlai linked up play well with others around him and caused a lot of headaches for the Bournemouth defenders.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6/10

He anchored the midfield well and made two energetic runs with the ball. However, Mac Allister received a red card for a late challenge in the second half.

CM: Cody Gakpo – 7/10

The Dutch talent had a few bright moments in the game but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 7.5/10

Salah missed a penalty but did well to score from the rebound in the 36th minute.

ST: Diogo Jota – 8/10

The Portugal international was a constant menace in the final third and got his deserved goal in the 62nd minute.

LW: Luis Diaz – 8.5/10

Diaz caused all sorts of chaos with his running inside the Bournemouth half. He scored the all-important equaliser for Liverpool with a great finish.

The Japan international moved the ball well in the middle of the park.

He kept things solid at the back.

Elliott added some pace to Klopp’s attack.

LB: Kostas Tsimikas – N/A
