In a recent report, Alfredo Pedulla stated that Aston Villa are close to sealing a move for Galatasaray playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo this summer. It has been claimed that the Villans are hoping to finalize an initial love move for the Italian talent in this ongoing transfer window.

Zaniolo’s Impressive Record At Galatasaray Last Season

Zaniolo had an encouraging season at the Turkish club after he produced a few impressive performances for them in the opposition half. The Italy international found the back of the net five times and picked up one assist in 12 matches for Galatasaray in the previous campaign across various competitions.

The 24-year-old was a consistent performer on the attacking third of the pitch as he averaged 2.2 shots and 0.7 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. However, he was a bit careless when distributing possession in the final third as he completed just 73.7% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Turkish football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Turkish club will expire in the summer of 2027. Thus, it makes sense for the Villans to arrange a loan move for him during this transfer window.

Is Zaniolo A Good Choice For Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery?

Zaniolo can create a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in on-target. He can chip in by scoring his fair share of goals in the final third. Zaniolo is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a right-winger if asked to do so by his manager.

The Italian sensation has also got the vision to create a few decent chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half. He can also make a few clever runs with the ball.

We can expect Zaniolo to bring more firepower to Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s frontline. He might even help the Villans challenge for a top-half finish in the Premier League this season.

Therefore, Zaniolo would be a good choice for the West Midlands club to pursue before the end of this transfer window. At 24, he has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Aston Villa to consider this month.
