West Ham United welcomed Chelsea at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Hammers made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the seventh minute when Nayef Aguerd found the back of the net. However, Carney Chukwuemeka equalised for the Blues in the 28th minute as the two teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Michail Antonio restored West Ham’s lead with a great finish in the 53rd minute. However, Aguerd was given his marching orders by the referee just 14 minutes later.

Still, David Moyes’ men stayed firm and managed to kill the game off in injury time when Lucas Paqueta scored from the penalty spot. The contest ended with West Ham securing an impressive 3-1 win in front of their home supporters.

Let’s find out how each West Ham player performed during the clash against the Blues.

GK: Alphonso Areola – 8/10

The Hammers’ goalie made a few decent saves at the back and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.

RB: Vladimir Coufal – 6.5/10

He cleared the danger when needed and was a solid presence on the defensive end of the pitch.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 6.5/10

Zouma didn’t do much wrong at the back but was a bit inaccurate with his passing.

CB: Nayef Aguerd – 6/10

Aguerd did his fair share of defending and was responsible for scoring the opener in the 7th minute. However, he left his teammates down by getting sent off by the referee.
