West Ham United welcomed Chelsea at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Hammers made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the seventh minute when Nayef Aguerd found the back of the net. However, Carney Chukwuemeka equalised for the Blues in the 28th minute as the two teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
Michail Antonio restored West Ham’s lead with a great finish in the 53rd minute. However, Aguerd was given his marching orders by the referee just 14 minutes later.
Still, David Moyes’ men stayed firm and managed to kill the game off in injury time when Lucas Paqueta scored from the penalty spot. The contest ended with West Ham securing an impressive 3-1 win in front of their home supporters.

Zouma didn’t do much wrong at the back but was a bit inaccurate with his passing.

Aguerd did his fair share of defending and was responsible for scoring the opener in the 7th minute. However, he left his teammates down by getting sent off by the referee.
LB: Emerson Palmieri – 7.5/10
Emerson performed his defensive duties well and had a couple of bright moments in the opponent’s half.
CM: Tomas Soucek – 7/10
He anchored the midfield with conviction and made some decent chances in the final third.
CM: James Ward-Prowse – 7.5/10
The English midfield ace anchored the midfield well and made two decent chances in the opponent’s half.
RW: Jarrod Bowen – 6.5/10
Bowen was not shy of having a strike at goal but there was no goal for him today.
CAM: Lucas Paqueta – 7/10
He caught the eye at times and managed to get his name on the scoresheet via the penalty spot in injury time.
LW: Said Benrahma – 6.5/10
Benrahma made two promising runs with the ball but failed to find the back of the net.
ST: Michail Antonio – 7.5/10
Antonio scored a great goal to restore his team’s lead early in the second half.
