Newcastle United will lock horns with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday as they hope to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies managed to earn a dominant 5-1 win over Aston Villa recently, so they will be full of confidence ahead of this contest versus the reigning Premier League champions.

Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this clash. Hence, Alexander Isak will once again lead the line for the Tyneside giants on the attacking end of the pitch.

4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City

Defence

Nick Pope will function in goal for Newcastle after conceding one goal in his last appearance. Fabian Schar will continue to operate alongside Sven Botman at the centre of Newcastle’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.

Dan Burn will play as the left-back while Kieran Trippier looks to catch the eye on the other side as the right-back. Both of them would have to perform their defensive duties well if they want to prevent the opposition from causing problems from the flanks.

Jamaal Lascelles will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create some clear-cut chances on the counter.

Elliot Anderson and Sean Longstaff will be named on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to impress as the second-half substitutes if needed.

Attack

Anthony Gordon will try to put in a positive performance as the left-winger while Miguel Almiron looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player.

Alexander Isak will once again spearhead Newcastle’s attack on his own up top. He managed to score a brace versus Aston Villa which will give him a lot of confidence ahead of this game at the Etihad.

Callum Wilson and Harvey Barnes will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
