In a recent print edition, Tuttosport mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race for Juventus ace Gleison Bremer. It has been claimed that Spurs are in pole position to acquire the services of the Brazilian centre-back during this summer transfer period.

Bremer’s Solid Season In Serie A

Bremer enjoyed a solid campaign at the Italian club as he put in a run of impressive performances at the heart of Juve’s backline. The Brazilian talent was involved in 43 matches for the Turin outfit last season, scoring five goals and earning one assist across all competitions.

The 26-year-old was a rock at the back for the Italian side based on his average of 1.0 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 3.8 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from the back, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 90.2% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current deal at the Allianz Stadium will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it will be difficult for Spurs to land Bremer on the cheap in this off-season.

Is Bremer A Decent Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglou?

Bremer is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.88m, Bremer can use his powerful frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Spurs manage to bring him to North London this summer.

Bremer will no doubt enhance the quality of Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglou’s defence and could help the London outfit challenge for a top-four spot in the English top-flight next season.

At 26, the Brazilian talent is about to enter his prime and has what it takes to make an immediate impact at Tottenham as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in England. Thus, Bremer would be an excellent choice for Spurs to pursue during this summer transfer period.
