Barcelona faced off against Celta Vigo at Abanca-Balaídos earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a positive result on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 42nd minute when Gabri Veiga found the back of the net. Barca went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Veiga doubled the home team’s advantage in the 65th minute. Ansu Fati got a goal back for Xavi’s side just 14 minutes later but Barcelona failed to mount a late comeback and crashed to a tough 2-1 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the match against Celta Vigo.

GK: Marc-André ter Stegen – 6.5/10

The German keeper made a lot of important saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet in both halves.

RB: Sergi Roberto – 6/10

He was a strong presence in the air and made one key chance in the opponent’s half. However, Roberto was far from convincing when defending inside his half.

CB: Jules Kounde – 6.5/10

The French talent got stuck in with some solid tackles and was good on the ball.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

He didn’t do much wrong on the defensive end of the field but was replaced at half-time.

He showed some glimpses of what he is capable of but struggled to be inventive in the final third.

CM: Eric Garcia – 6/10

Garcia looked like a player out of position playing as a central midfielder.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 6.5/10

He got stuck in with a few solid tackles and was accurate with his passing.

RW: Raphinha – 6.5/10

The Brazilian winger completed some decent dribbles in the final third. However, Raphinha failed to get his name on the scoresheet tonight.

ST: Robert Lewandowski – 6.5/10

He caused some problems for the opposition defenders and was unfortunate to hit the post.

His impact on the game was minimal in the second half.
