According to a report from Birmingham Live, Aston Villa are preparing to make a bid of approximately £35 million for Tammy Abraham during the upcoming summer transfer window. The club aims to bolster its squad and provide healthy competition for their primary centre forward and leading goal scorer, Ollie Watkins.

Abraham’s Decent Numbers At The Stadio Olimpico

Abraham is experiencing a fruitful campaign in Italian football as he has put in a series of productive performances as the focal point of Jose Mourinho’s attack. The ex-Chelsea marksman has banged in nine goals and secured five assists in 53 matches for the Italian outfit this season across all fronts.

The London-born talent has proven himself to be a valuable asset at Roma by averaging 1.7 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution based on his pass completion rate of 68.3% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will He Add To Aston Villa?

Abraham possesses the attributes of speed and strength that can pose significant challenges for opposing centre-backs. His development as a proficient finisher in the attacking zone has been noticeable, and he has also shown an ability to provide occasional assists. Furthermore, Abraham displays intelligence in his runs, often exploiting the space behind the opponent’s defensive line.

With his prime years ahead of him, the London-born talent is poised to make a significant impact under the guidance of Villa‘s head coach, Unai Emery, provided a deal can be struck this summer.

Abraham’s addition to the Villans’ frontline is expected to substantially boost attacking prowess, potentially elevating the team’s chances of contending for major honours in the upcoming seasons. Being just 24 years old, the English striker holds tremendous promise for the future, making him an appealing prospect for Emery to consider during the transfer window.

Having previously experienced the demands of the Premier League with Chelsea and during his loan spell at Villa, Abraham should have no difficulty adapting to life at Villa Park should the club secure his services in the near future.
