In a recent report, The Times mentioned that Arsenal are preparing to move in for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo. It has been revealed that the Gunners are hoping to bring the Ecuadorian talent in this off-season.

Caicedo’s Impressive Form In English Football This Season

Caicedo had a solid campaign at the American Express Community Stadium recently as he put in a run of impressive performances at the centre of Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield. The Ecuadorian talent has participated in 43 matches for the Seagulls this season, scoring one goal and grabbing one assist in the process across multiple competitions.

The 21-year-old has offered decent protection for his teammates at the back by averaging 2.7 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been accurate with his ball distribution after making 88.8% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract with the Seagulls will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, the Gunners will have to launch a big-money move if they want to snap Caicedo up in the upcoming transfer window.

What Will Caicedo Bring To Arsenal?

Caicedo can get stuck in with a few solid tackles to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. He usually times his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side in midfield and doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed. Caicedo is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so by his manager.

The Ecuadorian sensation is a good passer of the ball and can strike the ball with power from long range. He can also make some driving runs with the ball from midfield.

Hence, Caicedo would be an excellent acquisition for the Gunners this summer. He will bring plenty of bite and steel to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta‘s midfield.

At 21, the future looks quite promising for Caicedo. He could even help the North London club challenge for multiple trophies over the next decade. Thus, Arteta should focus on going all out to secure his services when the transfer window commences later this month.
