Liverpool are the most successful club in English football as they have won 68 major trophies throughout their history. The Reds have lifted the league title 19 times thus far with Jurgen Klopp hoping to lead them to another Premier League win in the 2023-24 campaign. They are also the only British club to have won the European Cup (now UEFA Champions League) six times.
Before we take a look at their last title win, it’s important to note that the Merseyside club won their first title in the 1900-01 season. Liverpool have become champions of England 18 more times over the years with their latest triumph coming under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp recently.
The Merseyside giants will now look to win the Premier League title once again in the 2023-24 campaign which if they do achieve will be their 20th league title in history.
When Was The Last Time Liverpool Won The Premier League Title?
The last time Liverpool lifted the Premier League title was back in the 2019-20 season when Jurgen Klopp’s men finished with 99 points and with an 18-point lead over second-placed Manchester City. The Reds ended that campaign having scored 85 goals and conceded 33 goals with a positive goal difference of 52.
Mohamed Salah finished as the top-scorer for Liverpool that season after he banged in 19 goals in the league and 23 goals for them across all competitions. The Merseyside club’s most recent title win was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Klopp’s men refused to give up on their goal and managed to overcome all the obstacles on their way to becoming champions of England for the 19th time in history.
Liverpool went on an 18-game win streak and a 27-game unbeaten streak during that campaign. The Reds won the title with seven games to spare which remains one of the most incredible feats in English football history.
