Rangers will lock horns with Aberdeen at the Ibrox Stadium this Sunday as they look to secure a win in the Scottish Premiership. The Glaswegian outfit suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic in the Scottish Cup recently, so they will be desperate to bounce back with a victory this weekend.
Rangers will set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Michael Beale expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Fashion Sakala and John Souttar will both get a chance to play from the start of this clash versus Aberdeen.
4-2-3-1 Rangers Predicted Lineup To Face Aberdeen
Defence
Allan McGregor will function in goal for the home team after shipping in one goal in his last outing. John Souttar will operate alongside Ben Davies at the centre of Beale’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
James Tavernier will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Borna Barisic hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Connor Goldson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
John Lundstram and Nicolas Raskin will anchor the midfield for Rangers as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Ryan Kent, Todd Cantwell and Alfredo Morelos will play just ahead of them as part of Beale’s attack. All three of them need to link up with each other well in the opponent’s half so that they can create enough chances to win this contest at the Ibrox.
Ianis Hagi and Scott Arfield will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Fashion Sakala will lead the line for Rangers on his own up top. He has to find a way to threaten the Aberdeen goal if the home team are to come out on top this weekend.
Rabbi Matondo will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Rangers are in need of a goal by then.
