Newcastle United clashed heads with Everton at Goodison Park earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal via Callum Wilson’s effort in the 28th minute. Eddie Howe’s men controlled the game well and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Joelinton doubled Newcastle’s advantage in the 72nd minute before Wilson scored again for the Magpies just three minutes later. Everton responded via Dwight McNeil’s consolation goal but the visitors scored again when Jacob Murphy got his name on the scoresheet in the 81st minute. The match finished with the Tyneside club earning an impressive 4-1 win away at Merseyside.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player performed during the match against the Toffees.

GK: Nick Pope – 6.5/10

He made a few crucial saves at the back but won’t be happy after conceding a soft goal late in the game.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 6.5/10

Trippier performed his defensive duties well and had a lively game going forward.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

He cleared the danger when needed and was unfortunate to have a goal chalked off in the second half.

CB: Sven Botman – 6.5/10

Botman put his foot through the ball when the home team were looking to go on the front foot but won’t be pleased after allowing a late goal.
