Aston Villa will take on Manchester United as they travel to Old Trafford on Sunday, hoping to secure all three points from this away encounter. The Villans recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Fulham in their last league outing. However, they’ve won four of the previous five games, which gives them confidence in this weekend’s contest.
Unai Emery will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation which has been working in their favour, and is expected to name the same starting XI from the last outing. Ollie Watkins will continue to lead the charge against the opposition while Emiliano Martinez operates in goal.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted XI Vs Manchester United
Defence
After keeping a clean sheet in his last outing, Emiliano Martinez will continue to function in goal for the Villans. Tyrone Mings will resume his centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of Villa’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.
Ashley Young will continue to operate as the right-back, while Alex Moreno proves his worth on the other side as the left-back. They will have to defend their penalty box well and try to create some decent chances going forward.
Lucas Digne will offer cover for the defensive positions as they take a spot on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield alongside Leon Dendoncker as they focus on dominating the midfield battle and creating inviting chances for their teammates in the final third.
John McGinn will try to be productive for the West Midlands club on the right flank. Jacob Ramsey will try to give a good account of himself as a left-sided wide player. Both of them will be providing support from wide areas. Emi Buendia will operate as the advanced attacking midfielder acting as the primary playmaker as he looks to be productive in front of the goal.
Boubacar Kamara remains sidelined due to their injuries, so the West Midlands club remains short on options in the midfield department.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the charge against the opposition on the attacking end of the field. The English sensation would be eager to find the back of the net when he laces up to face off against the United defenders this weekend.
Bertrand Traore will take a spot on the bench while waiting for a chance to shine in the second half.
