Newcastle United locked horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier this afternoon as they hoped to secure a positive result on their travels. The Magpies made a poor start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 11th minute when Jacob Ramsey found the back of the net. The visitors failed to mount a comeback and went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Ollie Watkins scored a second-half brace for the Villans as Eddie Howe’s men crashed to a poor 3-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player fared during the match against the Villans.

GK: Nick Pope – 6/10

The English keeper made a few crucial saves at the back but still conceded three goals tonight.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending and made two decent chances in the final third.

CB: Fabian Schar – 6/10

Schar gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was tidy with his passing.

CB: Sven Botman – 6/10

He was far from convincing at the back and won’t be pleased after conceding three goals today.
