Newcastle United locked horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier this afternoon as they hoped to secure a positive result on their travels. The Magpies made a poor start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 11th minute when Jacob Ramsey found the back of the net. The visitors failed to mount a comeback and went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Ollie Watkins scored a second-half brace for the Villans as Eddie Howe’s men crashed to a poor 3-0 loss away from home.
