Liverpool welcomed Arsenal at Anfield earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the eighth minute when Gabriel Martinelli scored with a good finish. Gabriel Jesus doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 28th minute but Mohamed Salah got a goal back for Liverpool just 14 minutes later as the Merseyside club went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.

Roberto Firmino came on as a substitute and equalised for Liverpool in the 87th minute. Jurgen Klopp‘s men ended up settling for a 2-2 draw at Merseyside.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the contest against the Gunners.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper made a few decent saves at the back and will be disappointed after conceding two early goals.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8/10

The English talent did his fair share of defending and managed to engineer some promising chances for his teammates in the final third. He picked up a deserved assist for setting up Firmino’s goal.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7/10

Konate performed his defensive duties well but wasted a golden chance to win the game for Liverpool late in the game.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6/10

The Dutch defender was too slow to react to the danger in the first half. However, he was solid at the back after the half-time interval.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 6/10

Robertson came back to defend when needed and made one key chance from the left flank.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 7/10

The Liverpool captain led his troops well in the second half and was a positive influence in both halves.

CM: Fabinho – 6/10

He showed some signs of what he is capable of but produced an underwhelming display at the centre of the park.

CM: Curtis Jones – 6.5/10

Jones played a big role in the lead-up to Salah’s goal just before the half-time break. However, he was replaced in the 59th minute.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 6.5/10

The Egypt international was a constant menace in the Arsenal half. He scored a good goal in the 42nd minute but missed a penalty in the second half.

ST: Cody Gakpo – 7/10

Gakpo held the ball up really well in the opposition half and created some decent chances for others around him.

LW: Diogo Jota – 6.5/10

He worked hard in the Arsenal half but never looked like he would score.

Substitutes:

CM: Thiago Alcantara – 6.5/10

The Spaniard moved the ball really well from midfield.

LW: Darwin Nunez – 6.5/10

Nunez added more pace to Klopp’s attack but wasted a great chance to find the back of the net.

ST: Roberto Firmino – 7.5/10

He came off the bench and scored a late equaliser which salvaged a point for his team.
