Arsenal entertained Southampton at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Gunners made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the first minute when Carlos Alcaraz found the back of the net. Theo Walcott doubled Southampton’s advantage in the 14th minute before Gabriel Martinelli got a goal back for Arsenal just six minutes later. The North London club went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
Dule Caleta-Car put the visitors 3-1 up when he scored with a solid header in the 66th minute. However, Mikel Arteta‘s men pulled off a late comeback thanks to a goal each from Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. The contest ended with the Gunners earning a hard-fought 3-3 draw in front of their home fans.

He struggled to give a good account of himself at left-back and was replaced in the 71st minute.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7.5/10
Odegaard caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders and managed to get his name on the scoresheet with a good strike in the 88th minute.
CM: Thomas Partey – 7/10
He worked hard at both ends of the field and got stuck in with a few solid tackles.
CM: Fabio Vieira – 6/10
Vieira struggled to get into the flow of the game but made one key chance in the final third.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 9/10
He managed to engineer some decent chances for others around him and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 7/10
The Brazil international had plenty of strikes at goal but failed to take any of his chances.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 8.5/10
He caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defenders and scored Arsenal’s opening goal in the 20th minute.
