Real Madrid entertained Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they focused on securing a good result at home in La Liga. Los Blancos made a good start to the game and found themselves ahead in the 16th minute when Pau Torres scored an unfortunate own goal. However, Samuel Chukwueze equalised for the visitors in the 39th minute as the two teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Vinicius Jr. restored Real Madrid’s lead just three minutes into the second half. However, Jose Luis Morales equalised for the Yellow Submarine in the 70th minute before Chukwueze completed the turnaround and netted the winning goal in the 80th minute. The contest ended with Carlo Ancelotti’s men suffering a disappointing 3-2 loss in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the match against Villarreal.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 6.5/10

Courtois made some impressive saves at the back but still ended up conceding three goals.

RB: Lucas Vazquez – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending and made two decent runs with the ball.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6/10

Rudiger made a few crucial clearances inside his half but still ended up conceding three goals tonight.

CB: David Alaba – 6/10

He tried his best to keep things tidy at the back in the first half but was replaced at half-time.

LB: Nacho – 6/10

The Spaniard was far from convincing when defending at the back but was a threat going forward.

CM: Marco Asensio – 7/10

Asensio was a positive influence on both ends of the field.

CM: Aurelien Tchouameni – 7.5/10

Tchouameni anchored the midfield with conviction and had a few lively moments in the final third.

CM: Dani Ceballos – 7.5/10

He protected his backline well and caused some headaches for the Villarreal defenders.

RW: Rodrygo – 7/10

Rodrygo was a constant menace down the right flank but has got nothing to show for his efforts.

ST: Karim Benzema – 6.5/10

The French striker had a few lively moments in the game but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 8.5/10

He was unplayable at times on the attacking end of the field and deserves credit for netting a goal early in the second half.

Substitutes:

CB: Eder Militao – 6/10

He conceded a couple of goals in the second 45 minutes.

RW: Federico Valverde – 6.5/10

Valverde had a couple of bright moments in the game.

CM: Luka Modric – 6/10

He created some decent chances for others around him.

LB: Eduardo Camavinga – 6/10

Camavinga offered very little after coming on as a substitute.
