Liverpool faced off against West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Reds made a decent start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 12th minute when Lucas Paqueta scored with a good strike from long range. However, Cody Gakpo equalised for the Merseyside club with an excellent finish just six minutes later. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Joel Matip scored the only goal of the second half as he scored with a bullet header in the 67th minute as the contest finished 2-1 in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the match against the Hammers.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

Alisson had to make just one save in the game but couldn’t do much about Lucas Paqueta’s finish in the first half.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong at the back and was lively going forward. Alexander-Arnold ended the game with an assist to his name.

CB: Joel Matip – 8/10

Matip dealt with the danger when needed and ended up scoring the match-winner with a bullet header in the second half.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7.5/10

The Dutch talent made a lot of important clearances at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition to just one goal.
