In a recent interview with Tipsbladet, Mjällby AIF sporting director Hans Larsson mentioned that Manchester United are eyeing a move for Mjällby AIF midfielder Otto Rosengren. Larsson said,
“There have been some Danish, English and a Dutch club looking at him. Viborg, AGF and Manchester United, among others, have been looking at him.
“There is nothing concrete about him. There have been some rumours, and then several clubs have looked at him.”
Rosengren’s Recent Rise In Swedish Football
Rosengren came through the youth ranks of Mjällby AIF and has successfully established himself as an important member of their senior team. The Swedish youngster has already made 37 senior appearances for his current employers thus far, picking up three assists in the process across all fronts.
The 19-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at the heart of Mjällby’s midfield. His current deal at the Swedish club is set to run out at the end of 2025. Thus, Man United will have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit Rosengren this summer.
Manchester United Eyeing A Move For Rosengren: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Rosengren is full of energy at the centre of the park and usually works hard for his side off the ball. He has got the vision to set up some decent plays for others around him but needs to figure out a way to add more goals to his game. Rosengren is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if needed.
The Swedish sensation is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to adapt to life in English football.
Still, there is no denying that Rosengren has the potential to become a future star at a top club like Man United if Erik ten Hag can get the best out of him in the coming seasons. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future.
At 19, Rosengren has got a lot of room to grow as a footballer. With all things considered, the Red Devils should focus on getting a deal done for him during the summer transfer window.
