Manchester City locked horns with Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a victory on their travels in the Premier League. The Mancunian side made a good start to the game and got themselves ahead in the 45th minute when Erling Haaland found the back of the net. Pep Guardiola’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Jack Grealish doubled Man City’s advantage in the 58th minute before Haaland scored again just ten minutes later. Sekou Mara scored a consolation goal for the Saints in the 72nd minute. Three minutes later, Julian Alvarez scored from the penalty spot as Man City cruised to a dominant 4-1 win away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player performed during the match against the Saints.

GK: Ederson – 6/10

The Brazilian keeper hardly had anything to do in the game but won’t be happy after conceding a goal in the second half.

CB: Manuel Akanji – 6.5/10

Akanji was strong in the air and accurate with his passing.

CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10

The Portuguese talent cleared the danger when needed and won his fair share of aerial duels as well.

CB: Nathan Ake – 6.5/10

Ake was hardly worked at the back but was a good presence on the ball.
