Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid as they welcome them to Camp Nou on Sunday, looking to grab a win and extend their lead in the title race. The Spanish giants will come into the match on the back of a 0-0 stalemate against Getafe, so they will have to perform better to win this weekend’s contest.
Xavi will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this contest. Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge against the opposition while Frenki De Jong returns to the midfield.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted XI Vs Atletico Madrid
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will continue to feature in goal for the Catalan club after securing a clean sheet in his last outing. Ronald Araujo will form a centre-half partnership with Eric Garcia at the heart of Barca’s backline as they look to keep things tidy at the back during the game.
Jules Kounde will operate as the right-back, while Alejandro Balde hopes to put in a good display on the other flank as the left-back. Both will get the freedom to get forward and cause a few problems for the opposition full-backs.
Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso will have to settle for a place on the bench as they cover the defensive positions.
Midfield
Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets and Franck Kessie will operate in the midfield positions as they look to dominate the game at the centre of the park and engineer enough chances for the Catalan club to win this contest. They will be tasked with creating opportunities in front of the goal and providing support down the middle.
Attack
Gavi and Raphinha will operate in the wide areas as they look to cut in and provide support from the left and right flank.
Robert Lewandowski will once again spearhead Xavi’s attack up top. The Polish striker would be hungry to get his name on the scoresheet when he laces up to face off against the opposition defenders for this La Liga contest.
Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres could be named on the bench and might come on in the latter stages of the contest if Barca require a goal by then.
