Chelsea entertained Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. The Blues made a solid start to the game but were held to a goalless draw at half-time.

Rodrygo finally broke the deadlock for Los Blancos in the 58th minute and managed to double his tally in the 80th minute. The match ended with Frank Lampard’s men suffering a tough 2-0 defeat at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the contest against Los Blancos.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6.5/10

The Spaniard made a few crucial saves at the back but won’t be happy after conceding two second-half goals.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 6.5/10

He was accurate with his passing and managed to frustrate the opposition attackers for most of the game.

CB: Thiago Silva – 6.5/10

The Brazilian sensation used his experience well at times to clear the danger. However, his efforts were not enough in the end.

CB: Wesley Fofana – 6/10

He got stuck in with some solid tackles and was a good presence on the ball.

RW: Reece James – 7/10

James caused a lot of headaches for the opposition defenders but failed to assist a goal tonight.

CM: Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10

Fernandez was not shy of having a strike at goal but produced an uninspiring display at the centre of the park.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6/10

He engineered some inviting chances for others around him but struggled to offer enough protection for his teammates at the back.

LM: Marc Cucurella – 6/10

Cucurella was guilty of squandering a chance but had some bright moments in the final third.

RAM: N’Golo Kante – 6.5/10

Kante threatened the Real Madrid goal but failed to take any of his chances.

LAM: Conor Gallagher – 6.5/10

Gallagher had a few lively moments in the opposition’s half but there was no goal for him tonight.

ST: Kai Havertz – 7/10

The German worked hard to cause problems for the opposition centre-backs. He once again failed to find the back of the net.

Substitutes:

ST: Joao Felix – 6/10

He had a few strikes at goal.

RAM: Raheem Sterling – 6.5/10

Sterling made two lively runs with the ball.

LAM: Mykhailo Mudryk – 6/10

He added some pace to Lampard’s attack.

CM: Mason Mount – 6/10

Mount injected some energy into Chelsea’s midfield.
