Rangers locked horns with Celtic at Hampden Park earlier today as they looked to earn a victory in the semifinals of the Scottish FA Cup. The Gers made a solid start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 42nd minute when Jota found the back of the net for the Hoops. Rangers went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Michael Beale’s men failed to mount a comeback in the second 45 minutes and crashed to a narrow 1-0 loss in Glasgow.

Let’s take a look at how each Rangers player fared during the match against the Hoops.

GK: Allan McGregor – 7/10

McGregor made a few solid saves at the back and won’t be pleased after conceding a goal just before the half-time break.

RB: James Tavernier – 6.5/10

He looked shaky when defending inside his half at times but was a real threat going forward. Tavernier was unfortunate to hit the post.

CB: Conor Goldson – 6.5/10

Goldson didn’t do much wrong at the back and will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet today.

CB: Ben Davies – 6.5/10

He didn’t do much wrong on the defensive end of the field.

LB: Borna Barisic – 5.5/10

Barisic struggled to give a good account of himself and got replaced in the 74th minute.

CM: John Lundstram – 7/10

Lundstram offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and was good on the ball as well.

CM: Nicolas Raskin – 6/10

He showed a few glimpses of what he is capable of but struggled to get a foothold in the game.

RW: Todd Cantwell – 8/10

Cantwell worked hard defensively and looked composed when in possession of the ball. He was one of Beale’s better players today.

CAM: Malik Tillman – 6/10

He had to come off with an injury after 36 minutes.

LW: Ryan Kent – 5/10

The former Liverpool talent struggled to get into the rhythm of the contest and was substituted at half-time.

ST: Alfredo Morelos – 5/10

The Colombian talent struggled to get involved in the final third and produced a toothless display up top.

Substitutes:

CM: Scott Arfield – 6/10

He put in a tireless performance off the bench.

ST: Fashion Sakala – 6.5/10

Sakala caused a few headaches for the opposition but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

LB: Ridvan Yilmaz – 6/10

He offered very little after coming on as a substitute.

RW: Rabbi Matondo – 6/10

Matondo looked lively in the latter stages of the contest.

CAM: Ianis Hagi – N/A

He hardly had any time to influence the game.
