In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Bayern 04 Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong is keen on a move to Manchester United. It has been claimed that the Dutch defender wants to join the Red Devils in the summer.

Frimpong’s Impressive Numbers In German Football This Season
Frimpong is having a decent campaign in Bundesliga as he has put in a string of impressive displays on the right side of Leverkusen’s backline. The Dutch sensation has registered eight goals and nine assists in 37 appearances for the German club this season across multiple competitions.
The 22-year-old has been a positive influence in both halves based on his average of 1.7 tackles, 1.0 clearances, 1.1 shots, 1.4 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from the right flank after completing 79.5% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Man United would do well to land him on the cheap at the end of this season.
Should Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag Move In For Frimpong?
Frimpong is a decent tackler of the ball and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. The Dutch talent can also make some driving runs with the ball on the right flank. He could be a shrewd signing for the Red Devils to pull off in the summer.
Frimpong would no doubt be a decent replacement for Diogo Dalot as he is more proven on the defensive end of the field. He has what it takes to rival Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford.
Thus, Man United boss Erik ten Hag should think about moving in for Frimpong as he could help the Mancunian outfit challenge for some major trophies over the next decade. At 22, Frimpong will only get better in the coming seasons and could prove himself to be a success story at the Theatre of Dreams in the long run.
