Real Madrid welcomed Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win at home in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash. Los Blancos made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 21st-minute courtesy of Karim Benzema’s effort. Carlo Ancelotti’s men went into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Marco Asensio doubled Real Madrid’s advantage in the 74th minute when he scored with a good finish. The contest ended with Los Blancos earning an impressive 2-0 win in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the match against the Blues.

The Belgian keeper made a few important stops at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet at the Bernabeu.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10

CB: David Alaba – 8/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch and was a threat at the other end of the field as well.
