Everton will welcome Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park this Monday night as they try to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Toffees were held to a 2-2 draw away at Chelsea before the international break, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways versus Spurs later this month.
Sean Dyche will set his players up in a 4-5-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. The Merseyside club are expected to keep changes to a minimum for this clash in front of their home fans.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for Everton after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Michael Keane will function alongside James Tarkowski at the centre of Dyche’s defence as they try to keep the Tottenham attackers at bay during the 90 minutes.
Seamus Coleman will fill in as the right-back while Ben Godfrey hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Dyche will ask both of them to keep a solid defensive shape at the back so that they can restrict the opposition from creating too many problems from the wide areas.
Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana will once again make up Everton’s central midfielder as they try to make life difficult for the opposition in the middle of the park. Doucoure managed to score against Chelsea recently which will give him a ton of confidence going into this clash.
Dwight McNeil will operate as the left-sided wide player while Alex Iwobi hopes to be productive from the right flank. Both of them would be given the license to stretch the pitch for the Toffees on the counter.
Attack
Demarai Gray will lead the line for the Toffees on the attacking end of the field. He needs a goal to boost his confidence, so this match against Spurs will be a good opportunity for him to return to form in the Premier League.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
