Aston Villa will take on Bournemouth as they welcome them to Villa Park on Saturday, hoping to take all three points from this contest. The Villans come into the match on the back of a 1-1 stalemate against West Ham United, so they will have to perform better in order to grab a win here.

Unai Emery will probably opt for a 4-4-2 formation and is expected to name the same starting XI for this home encounter. We can expect Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins to lead the line together while Emiliano Martinez operates in goal for this contest.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez will continue to function in goal for the Villans after conceding a goal in his last outing. Tyrone Mings will resume his centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of Villa’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.

Matty Cash will continue to operate as the right-back, while Alex Moreno proves his worth on the other side as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to defend their penalty box well and try to create some decent chances going forward.

Lucas Digne and Ashley Young will offer cover for the defensive positions as they take a spot on the bench.

Midfield

Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield alongside Emi Buendia as they focus on dominating the midfield battle and creating some inviting chances for their teammates up top.

Jacob Ramsey will carry most of the creative burden for the West Midlands club on the left flank. John McGinn will try to give a good account of himself as a right-sided wide player. Both of them will need to work hard at both ends of the field if the Villans are to come out on top this weekend.

Leander Dendoncker and Boubacar Kamara remain sidelined due to their injuries, so the West Midlands club remains short on options in the midfield department.

Attack

Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey will form a two-man strike team to lead the charge against the opposition on the attacking end of the field. Both of them would be eager to find the back of the net when they lace up to face off against the West Ham defenders this weekend.

Bertrand Traore will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if the Villans are in need of a goal by then.
