Bellingham’s Impressive Numbers In German Football
Bellingham is having a decent campaign at Signal Iduna Park as he has managed to put in several dominant displays at the centre of Dortmund’s midfield. The England international has found the back of the net on ten occasions and grabbed six assists in 33 appearances for the Reds this season across all fronts.
The 19-year-old has been a consistent performer in both halves based on his average of 2.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 2.0 shots, 1.0 key passes and 2.4 clearances per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from midfield after making 81.7% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the German club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Real Madrid will have to launch a big-money offer if they want to win the race for Bellingham’s services later this year.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Bellingham Up?
Bellingham is a good tackler of the ball and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed in the middle of the park. He can offer decent protection for his teammates at the back and can set up some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.
The English midfield ace can also make some clever runs with the ball in the opponent’s half and can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He is primarily a central midfielder but can also operate as a wide player on either flank if told to do so by his head coach.
We can expect Bellingham to add more goals and creativity to Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield department and serve as an ideal long-term successor to Luka Modric at the Madrid club. Therefore, it is only logical for Real Madrid to try everything they can to lure the Dortmund star to the Spanish capital during the summer transfer period.
At 19, Bellingham is a generational talent who could help Los Blancos challenge for a lot of major trophies in the coming seasons. Hence, Ancelotti should focus on trying his best to snap him up when the transfer window commences later this year.
