According to a report from Liverpool Echo, it was mentioned that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Adrien Rabiot’s contract situation as it is set to expire at the end of this season. The Reds are looking to revamp their midfield in the summer and Rabiot could come for free at the end of this season.
Rabiot’s Impressive Numbers For Juventus So Far This Season
Rabiot is having a decent season in Turin after putting in some influential performances at the centre of Juve’s midfield. The French midfield ace has found the back of the net on seven occasions and grabbed three assists in 29 matches for the Italian club during this campaign across various competitions.
The 27-year-old has been a consistent performer at the Allianz Stadium based on his average of 1.8 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 1.0 clearances, 1.2 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in the Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession going forward after completing 84.1% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire at the end of this campaign. Hence, Liverpool could potentially land him for free this summer, however, the Merseyside club will face serious competition from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur who have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.
What Will Rabiot Add To Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp’s Team?
Rabiot is known for his physicality, technical ability, and versatility on the pitch. He is a well-rounded midfielder who can contribute both in attack and defence. His 1.88 meters tall frame makes him a strong presence in the midfield, and he is not afraid to go into tackles to win the ball back for his side. Furthermore, he has excellent vision and can pick out his teammates with accurate passes over short and long distances.
Defensively, Rabiot is a hard-working midfielder who is not afraid to put in a tackle. He is an excellent reader of the game and has the ability to anticipate opposing players’ movements, allowing him to make some crucial interceptions in his half. His physicality and work rate make him an important asset for his team in the defence.
We can expect Rabiot to add more bite and steel to Jurgen Klopp‘s midfield department at Anfield. He could go on to form a dominant midfield partnership with Fabinho at the Merseyside club.
Rabiot is good enough to help the Reds challenge for some major trophies over the coming seasons. At 27, he is about to enter the prime of his playing career and remains a decent fit for Klopp’s midfield. Hence, Liverpool should focus on going all out to recruit the France international during this summer transfer window.
