Real Madrid entertained Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a win in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash. Los Blancos made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 26th minute when Eder Militao scored an unfortunate own goal. Carlo Ancelotti’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

The home team struggled to score the decisive equaliser in the second half. The contest finished with the Madrid giants suffering a narrow 1-0 loss at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player fared during the match against Barcelona.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

The Belgian keeper made one good save in the game but won’t be pleased after conceding in the 26th minute.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 6/10

He didn’t do much wrong at the back but offered very little in the final third.

CB: Eder Militao – 5/10

Militao scored an unfortunate own goal in the first half which proved to be the difference between the two sides tonight in the Clasico.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6.5/10

The German defender snuffed out the danger when needed and produced a solid performance on the defensive third of the pitch.

CM: Eduardo Camavinga – 5/10

Camavinga gave away the ball cheaply in the lead-up to Militao’s own goal.

CM: Toni Kroos – 6.5/10

He engineered one good chance in the first 45 minutes but was lackluster in the second.

RW: Federico Valverde – 6/10

Valverde never looked like he had a goal in him and got booked for a bad foul of Frenkie de Jong.

CAM: Luka Modric – 6/10

The veteran midfielder wasted a good chance early in the game and offered very little in the remainder of the contest.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 5/10

It was not the Brazilian’s night tonight. He was a frustrated figure in the Barca half and struggled to pose a threat in the final third.

ST: Karim Benzema – 6/10

The French striker had a goal chalked off as off-side. He was a quiet presence otherwise up top.

Substitutes:

CM: Aurelien Tchouameni – 6/10

Tchouameni offered very little after coming on as a substitute.
