West Ham United will face off against Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday as they try to secure a good result away from home in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United earlier this week, so they will be eager to put in a much-improved display versus the Seagulls.
David Moyes will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to make some changes to his starting XI for this game. Danny Ings will spearhead West Ham‘s attack on his own up top.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton
Defence
Alphonso Areola will play in goal for the East London club as he looks to secure a clean sheet on the road. Nayef Aguerd and Angelo Ogbonna will resume their centre-back partnership as they try to keep the Brighton attackers frustrated during the game.
Ben Johnson could get a chance to impress as the right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them need to defend their penalty box well and try to create some decent runs going forward.
Thilo Kehrer will offer cover for the defensive positions on Moyes’ bench.
Midfield
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will function as the holding midfielders as they look to offer decent protection for their teammates at the back.
The talented trio of Said Benrahma, Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen will play just ahead of them as part of West Ham’s attack.
Paqueta will be the main playmaker for the Hammers in the opponent’s half while both Benrahma and Bowen hope to create problems for the Brighton full-backs out on the flanks.
Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals will be named on the bench as they await their opportunity to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Danny Ings will once again lead the charge for the East London giants in the final third. He managed to score a brace in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forrest recently, so his confidence will be quite high ahead of this clash at the Amex.
Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if West Ham are in need of a goal by then.
