In a recent stream on Twitch (via Marca), Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies opened up about his personal life. The Canada international revealed that he is ‘a popular loser’ as he said,

“It’s a bit worrying not having something to do, especially when all your friends have jobs.

“Life as a professional footballer is great to relax and enjoy. But after training, there’s nothing to do.”

Davies went on to add,

“Since I don’t have a family and my girlfriend doesn’t live with me, I’m alone. I probably have like five friends. I’m a popular loser.”

Davies is having another impressive season at Bayern Munich after putting in a run of impressive performances on the left side of their backline. As of 26 March 2023, the 22-year-old has found the back of the net on three occasions and picked up eight assists in 32 matches for the German club during this campaign across all fronts.
