Aston Villa entertained Arsenal at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the fifth-minute courtesy of Ollie Watlkins’ impressive finish. However, Bukayo Saka equalised for Arsenal just 11 minutes later when he scored with a great strike. Philippe Coutinho restored Aston Villa’s advantage in the 31st minute with a good finish as the West Midlands club went into the half-time break with a 2-1 lead.
Oleksandr Zinchenko equalised for the Gunners in the 61st minute with a good strike from long-range. Emiliano Martinez scored an unfortunate own goal in injury time before Gabriel Martinelli killed the game off in the dying embers of the contest with a good breakaway goal. The match ended with Unai Emery’s men suffering a tough 4-2 loss in front of their home fans.
