Newcastle United will welcome West Ham United at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they look to secure another positive result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Southampton recently which will keep them in good spirits ahead of this league clash at Tyneside.

Eddie Howe will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make one change to his starting XI for this game. Allan Saint-Maximin will play from the start as Bruno Guimaraes is suspended for this clash.

Nick Pope will operate as Newcastle’s primary goalkeeper once again as he looks to keep a clean sheet in front of the home supporters. Fabian Schar will resume his defensive partnership with Sven Botman at the centre of Howe’s defence as they focus on stopping the opposition from finding the back of the net this weekend.

Dan Burn will continue to feature as the left-back while Kieran Trippier hopes to put in another influential performance as the right-back. Both of them would get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.

Jamaal Lascelles will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.

Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Joelinton will function as Newcastle’s central midfielders as they try to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. Joeltinon and Willock will have to carry most of the creative burden for the Tyneside outfit in the injury absence of Bruno Guimaraes.

Elliot Anderson will be available for selection on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if Howe opts to call upon his services.

Allan Saint-Maximin will function as the left-sided wide player while Miguel Almiron looks to weave his magic from the right flank.

Callum Wilson will lead the charge for the Magpies on the attacking end of the field. He needs to find a way to cause a few problems for the West Ham centre-backs during the 90 minutes.

Matt Ritchie will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then. However, Alexander Isak is unlikely to recover in time for this clash at St. James’ Park.
