Manchester United have recently confirmed on their official website that they have decided to loan Axel Tuanzebe out to Stoke City on deadline day. It is understood that the English centre-back have left the Red Devils to join the Potters on loan until the end of this season.
Tuanzebe’s Lack Of Playing Time At Old Trafford This Season
Tuanzebe has failed to get any game time at Old Trafford during this campaign and has often been left on the fringes of Erik ten Hag’s match-day squad. He is still waiting to make his first appearance this season.
Hence, it is no surprise that the English defensive ace has opted to move away from the Theatre of Dreams on loan until next summer.
Tuanzebe had made a total of 37 appearances for the Red Devils thus far. His current contract at Man United is set to run out at the end of this campaign. Unless Tuanzebe decides to pen a new deal by then, it’s likely that he will leave the Mancunian club as a free agent later this year.
Manchester United Decide To Loan Tuanzebe Out To Stoke City: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Tuanzebe is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to earn the ball back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.
Standing at 1.85m, Tuanzebe is a dominant presence in the air as well when he is playing well on the pitch. He is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a right-back if his manager asks him to do so.
We can expect Tuanzebe to benefit from a loan to Stoke City where he will have a good shot at earning regular first-team chances in the second half of this campaign.
Tuanzebe is simply not good enough to challenge Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof for a regular starting spot at Man United. Thus, it is only fair to the player for Erik ten Hag to let him go out on loan and run out the remainder of his contract at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils can finally move on without him while Tuanzebe will now get a chance to prove his worth for the Potters in the EFL Championship. Hence, his recent loan seems like a good move for everyone involved.
