Chelsea will take on Tottenham Hotspur as they travel to North London on Sunday night hoping to secure all three points from this contest. The Blues recorded a disappointing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton in their last outing, so they will need to bounce back and return to winning ways.
Graham Potter will make use of the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a host of changes to the match-day squad for this away encounter. Mykhaylo Mudryk, Marc Cucurella and Thiago Silva are all in line to play from the start.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted XI Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will continue to operate in between the sticks for the Blues hoping to secure a clean sheet in this weekend’s contest. Potter will allow Thiago Silva to form the customary centre-half partnership with Benoit Badiashille at the heart of the Blues backline, as they try to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field throughout the game.
Marc Cucurella and Reece James will take up the right and left back positions. They will get the licences to go forward but will be asked to keep their shape defensively.
Kalidou Koulibaly will provide cover for the defensive positions as he takes his spot on the bench.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandes and Mateo Kovacic will continue to anchor the midfield for the Blues as they look to dominate possession at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances in the final third.
The talented trio of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke will operate as a part of Potter’s attack just ahead of the holding positions as they look to create some inviting chances in front of the goal.
Hakim Ziyech and Mason Mount might come on in the second half to impact the game if Potter decides to call upon their services.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Kai Havertz will make his way back into the starting XI to spearhead the West London club’s attack up top. He will have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the opposition centre-backs this weekend.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang will take a spot on the bench looking to provide cover in the final third.
