Liverpool will take on Crystal Palace as they travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday night looking to return to winning ways. The Reds come into the match on the back of a humiliating 5-2 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, so they will be eager to bounce back and grab a win in this Premier League contest.
Jurgen Klopp will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few rotations in the starting XI for this away encounter. Joe Gomez picked up an injury in the last match, so we can expect Joel Matip to replace him in the defensive third while Harvey Elliot will be pushing for a start in the central areas.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted XI Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in between the sticks for the Reds after conceding five goals in his last outing. Virgil Van Dijk will form the customary centre-half partnership with Joel Matip at the heart of Liverpool’s backline as they focus on stopping the opposition from finding the back of the net throughout the game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will function as the right-back while Andrew Robertson hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well before trying to create some decent chances in the final third.
Midfield
Jordan Henderson, Stefan Bajcetic and Harvey Elliot could make up Klopp’s midfield as they try to dominate the game at the centre of the park. Both Bajcetic and Henderson need to move the ball well if they are to engineer some promising chances for their teammates up top while Elliot looks to get in deep into the opposition backline.
Naby Keita and Curtis Jones will be named on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to impress in the second half if required.
Attack
Cody Gakpo will function as the left-sided wide player while Mohamed Salah looks to weave his magic from the right flank. Both of them need to get on the ball and express themselves in the final third if Liverpool are to create enough chances to win this clash at Selhurst Park.
Darwin Nunez will lead the line for the Merseyside club in the final third. The Uruguayan attacker would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet after finding the back of the net against Madrid in his last outing.
Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the game if Klopp opts to call upon their services.
