West Ham United will lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford this Wednesday night as they try to grind out a win in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Hammers managed to secure a brilliant 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest recently which will give them some much-needed confidence ahead of this cup game.

David Moyes will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few tweaks to his first XI in midweek. Michail Antonio will probably get the nod to lead the line for the East London club on the attacking end of the pitch.

Defence

Alphonso Areola will operate in between the sticks for West Ham in the injury absence of Lukasz Fabianski. Angelo Ogbonna will function alongside Nayef Aguerd as they try to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the game.

Ben Johnson will get an opportunity to give a good account of himself as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri looks to use his experience to his advantage on the other side as the left-back. Moyes will ask both of them to defend their lines well and limit the chances Man United create from the flanks.

Aaron Cresswell will offer cover for the defensive positions on Moyes’ bench. However, both Kurt Zouma and Vladimir Coufal will be sidelined for this game because of injuries.

Midfield

Lucas Paqueta, Declan Rice and Tomas Socuek will be eager to impress collectively and try to make life difficult for the home team in the middle of the park.

Flynn Downes and Manuel Lanzini will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Moyes opts to call upon their services.

Attack

Said Berahma will get another chance to catch the eye on the left flank while Jarrod Bowen looks to put his pace to good use on the right wing.

Michail Antonio will lead the charge for the East London club in the final third. He managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus Nottingham which would keep him in high spirits ahead of this cup game at Old Trafford.

Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings will need to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if West Ham are in need of a goal by then.
