Newcastle United will travel to Emirates Stadium for this most anticipated encounter with Arsenal on Tuesday. The Magpies were held to a scoreless draw by Leeds United, so they will need to bounce back and secure a better result this time around. On the other hand, the Gunners will be in high spirits as they continue their title charge maintaining their position at the top after defeating Brighton by a scoreline of 4-2.

Eddie Howe will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this contest. Hence, we can once again expect to see Miguel Almiron and Joelinton provide support from the wide areas.

Defence

Nick Pope will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies hoping to produce a strong display against the league leaders. Sven Botman will function alongside Fabian Schar at the heart of Newcastle’s backline as they hope to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.

Emirates Stadium

Kieran Trippier will fill in as the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Howe will give both of them the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance.

Jamaal Lascelles will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Joe Willock, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they try to dominate possession at the centre of the park and engineer enough chances for the Magpies to win this contest away from home.

Jacob Murphy will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if Howe opts to call upon his services.

Attack

Joelinton will function as the left-sided wide player while Miguel Almiron hopes to prove his worth on the right wing. Almiron is enjoying a good run of form this season and would be eager to make a difference for Newcastle in the final third.

Callum Wilson will replace Chris Wood to lead the charge for the Tyneside club up top. He will be looking to find the back of the net and get his name on the scoresheet as he goes against the Gunners in this midweek contest.

Allan Saint-Maximin and Ryan Fraser will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if needed.
