West Ham United take on Derby County on Monday as they travel to Pride Park Stadium for the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Hammers come into the match on the back of an impressive 2-0 victory over Everton which will keep them in high spirits going into this midweek contest.
David Moyes could opt for a 3-4-2-1 formation again and could keep the changes to a minimum for this away encounter. However, Emerson Palmieri could drop to the bench to make way for Aaron Cresswell on the left flank while Alphonse Areola gets the chance to impress in goal.
3-4-2-1 West Ham United Predicted XI Vs Derby County
Defence
Alphonse Areola will operate in between the sticks for this away encounter. The French shot-stopper will hope to give a strong performance and secure a clean sheet. Nayef Aguerd will form the customary centre-half partnership with Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna at the heart of West Ham’s backline.
Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson will take a spot on the bench to provide defensive cover for the backline.
Midfield
Lucas Paqueta and Declan Rice will continue in the central areas while the latter would assume more of a defensive role to shield the back four and proficiently distribute possession in the central areas. On the other hand, Paqueta will look to get deep into the opposition’s backline and create opportunities in front of the goal.
Aaron Cresswell will replace Emerson Palmieri as the left-sided wide player, whereas Vladimir Coufal will keep his place on the other flank. They will have to get forward to stretch the opposition and remain compact defensively.
Tomas Soucek will take a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages of the game.
Attack
Said Benrahma will feature in the left wing while Jarod Bowen looks to impress from the opposite flank.
As mentioned earlier, Michail Antonio will continue to lead the line for the visitors for this encounter. The English forward will hope to make the most of his chances and get his name on the scoresheet.
Danny Ings will have to wait for his chance to impress in the final third as he takes a spot on the bench.
