Newcastle United clashed heads with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier this evening as they looked to secure a positive result on their travels. The Magpies were the dominant team in the first half but failed to take their chances as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

It was a similar story in the second half as the Tyneside club failed to make the decisive breakthrough. The match ended with Eddie Howe’s men being held to a scoreless draw in South London.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player fared during the match against the Eagles.

GK: Nick Pope – 7/10

Pope made one good save in the game and secured a comfortable clean sheet on the road.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 8.5/10

He was solid on the defensive end of the field and made plenty of decent chances in the final third.

CB: Fabian Schar – 8/10

Schar didn’t put a foot wrong at the back and was a threat at the other end of the field as well.

CB: Sven Botman – 7/10

He cleared the danger when required and was a strong presence in the air.

Burn performed his defensive duties well and was a threat going forward.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 7/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction and made one good run with the ball.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 6.5/10

The Brazilian talent had a few good moments in the game but was lackluster in the final third.

CM: Joe Willock – 6.5/10

Willock struggled to get a foothold in the game at times but made two decent chances in the Palace half.

RW: Miguel Almiron – 7/10

He was a positive influence in both halves but there was no goal for him.

ST: Callum Wilson – 6/10

Wilson offered very little on the attacking end of the field.

LW: Joelinton – 7/10

The Brazilian caused a few problems for the opposition defenders but failed to find the back of the net.

Substitutes:

LW: Allan Saint-Maximin – 6/10

Saint-Maximin had a strike at goal.

ST: Alexander Isak – 6/10

He struggled to threaten the opponent’s goal.
