Real Madrid locked horns with Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a win in the Copa del Rey. Los Blancos made a poor start to the contest as they conceded the opening goal in the fourth minute when Etienne Capoue scored for the home team. Samuel Chukwueze doubled his team’s advantage in the 42nd minute as Real Madrid went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.

Vinicius Junior pulled a goal back for the Madrid giants in the 57th minute before Eder Militao got his name on the scoresheet just 12 minutes later. Dani Ceballos ended up netting the winning goal in the 86th minute as Carlo Ancelotti’s men earned a 3-2 win on the road.

Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the match against Villarreal.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

The Belgian keeper made one good save in the game but will be disappointed after conceding two goals in the first half.

RB: Nacho – 6/10

Nacho made a nervy start to the game and looked a bit off the pace. He was solid in the second half.

CB: Eder Militao – 8/10

Militao was a strong presence in the air and made several important defensive contributions. He even scored the equaliser for Los Blancos in the 69th minute.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6/10

He looked far from convincing on the defensive end of the pitch.

LB: Ferland Mendy – 6.5/10

Mendy was solid at the back and had some good moments down the left flank.

CM: Federico Valverde – 5.5/10

He was lackluster at both ends of the field and picked up a yellow card in the 72nd minute.

CM: Eduardo Camavinga – 7/10

Camavinga created some decent plays for others around him.

CM: Toni Kroos – 6/10

Kroos was sloppy on the ball and struggled to be decisive in the final third.

RW: Rodrygo – 6/10

He was quiet for most of the game and was replaced in the 56th minute.

ST: Karim Benzema – 6/10

The French talent was a constant menace up top but failed to take any of his chances to find the back of the net.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 7/10

He scored a great goal in the 57th minute which gave Real Madrid the platform to go on and snatch the win.

Substitutes:

CM: Dani Ceballos – 8/10

Ceballos came on and scored a great goal.

LW: Marco Asensio – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.
