Manchester City entertained Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result in the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Nathan Ake finally broke the deadlock in the 64th minute which turned out to be the only goal of the game as Man City earned a narrow 1-0 win to progress into the next round of the FA Cup.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the match against the Gunners.

GK: Stefan Ortega – 7/10

Ortega made a couple of solid saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet at home.

CB: John Stones – 6.5/10

He kept things solid when defending inside his half but got replaced in the 48th minute.

CB: Manuel Akanji – 6.5/10

Akanji performed his defensive duties well and made one key chance in the final third.

CB: Nathan Ake – 8/10

He didn’t do much wrong on the defensive end of the field and scored the only goal of the contest in the 64th minute.

CM: Rico Lewis – 7/10

Lewis anchored the midfield well for Man City and engineered one good chance in the final third.

CM: Rodri – 7.5/10

The Spaniard offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and created a couple of inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

RW: Riyad Mahrez – 6/10

Mahrez struggled to get into the rhythm of the game and was lackluster in the final third. He got substituted in the 57th minute.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 6/10

He earned the ball back once but offered very little going forward. De Bruyne hardly had a sniff at goal.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 7/10

Gundogan came back to defend when needed and was good on the ball.

LW: Jack Grealish – 7/10

He had a couple of bright moments in the game and picked up an assist for setting up Ake’s goal.

ST: Erling Haaland – 6.5/10

Haaland caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders but failed to register a goal tonight.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10

Laporte kept things tidy at the back.

ST: Julian Alvarez – 6.5/10

He was a real threat up top and was unfortunate to hit the post.

RB: Kyle Walker – 6.5/10

The English talent didn’t put a foot wrong in the game when defending inside his half.

CM: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10

The Portugal international added some energy to Pep Guardiola’s midfield.
