Barcelona will welcome Real Sociedad to Camp Nou on Wednesday night for the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals match-up. The Catalan club come into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Getafe in La Liga although they would be looking to produce a better result in this home encounter.
Xavi is going to opt for the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few changes to the first XI for this midweek contest. Robert Lewandowski will return to the final third to lead the line down the middle while Marc Andre ter Stegen operates in between the sticks.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted XI Vs Real Sociedad
Defence
Jordi Alba will get the nod over Alejandro Balde as the left-back while Sergi Roberto hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the right-back. Both of them would be eager to join in on the attack and create some inviting chances from the wide areas.
Jules Kounde will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Gavi, Frenkie De Jong and Pedri will make up Barca’s midfield as they try to dominate the game at the centre of the park and orchestrate some good openings on the attacking end of the field. Pedri and Gavi will act as Barcelona’s main playmakers inside the opponent’s half.
Sergio Busquets and Franck Kessie will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if Xavi decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Ansu Fati is expected to get the nod to operate on the left flank while Ousmane Dembele hopes to put his pace to good use on the right wing.
As mentioned earlier, Robert Lewandowski will act as the focal point of Xavi’s attack. He will continue with his rich run of form to cause a few problems for the opposition centre-backs in this home encounter.
Memphis Depay and Raphinha will be named on the bench as they might come on to influence the game in the latter half if needed.
