Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Preston at Deepdale this Saturday night as they look to advance further into the FA Cup competition. Spurs suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Manchester City recently but picked themselves up against Fulham recording a narrow 1-0 victory in their last outing.
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is expected to opt for a 3-4-3 formation and could keep the changes to a minimum for this encounter. Harry Kane remains a guaranteed starter in the number nine position while Hugo Lloris continues to operate in goal after keeping a clean sheet in the last fixture.
3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI Vs Preston
Defence
As mentioned above, Hugo Lloris will operate in between the sticks for Spurs after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Conte could name a back three of Clement Lenglet, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero while Ben Davies drops to the bench as they look to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.
Davies and Davinson Sanchez will provide cover for the defensive positions as they wait for their chance to impress in the second half if required.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur will anchor the midfield for Tottenham as they try to dominate possession at the centre of the park. Both of them will also need to create meaningful chances for the frontmen if they wish to advance further into the competition.
Ryan Sessegnon will get the nod to impress as the right-sided wide player while Ivan Perisic keeps his place on the left flank. Conte will ask both of them to work hard and create some problems for the Preston full-backs on the flanks.
Yves Bissouma and Emerson Royal will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to impress in the latter half if needed.
Attack
Richarlison will get a chance to give a good account of himself as the left-sided attacking midfielder while Dejan Kulusevski looks to weave his magic from the right.
Harry Kane will lead the charge for the North London club on the attacking end of the field. The English centre-forward will have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Spurs on his own up top.
Heung-min Son should be available for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Tottenham are in need of a goal by then.
